Ms Rebecca Lachlan has been awarded recognition as Wollongong Electorate Woman of the Year, Member for Wollongong, Paul Scully, has announced today.
Rebecca has led the local community group, Access for All a Unanderra Station, which has been dedicated to the installation of lifts at Unanderra Station.
She was instrumental in obtaining over 10,000 signatures on a petition to have the upgrade of Unanderra Station debated on the floor of the Legislative Assembly and continues to campaign on the issue by lobbying the Government and organising public rallies.
Rebecca has been heavily involved with the Stroke Foundation Australia as a StrokeSafe Ambassador and serves as a member of the StrokeSafe Consumer Council having been the victim of a stroke.

“She has lobbied extensively and was the driving force to gather over 10,000 signatures to have the need for the installation of lifts at Unanderra Station debated on the floor of the Legislative Assembly.
“Rebecca continues to be an instrumental force of nature in the continued campaign to convince the NSW Government to install the lifts at Unanderra Station so that the elderly, families with prams, and those people with a disability are able to access their local train station safely.
“I will continue to work closely with Rebecca and out local community to make sure those lifts at Unanderra Station are built.
