More than 2,200 homes declared state significant

07 November 2025

A further 10 projects have been declared State Significant Development (SSD) following recommendations from the Housing Delivery Authority (HDA).

Of the declared proposals, seven are in metropolitan Sydney and three are in regional New South Wales.

If all are lodged and approved, between them they could create more than 2,200 homes, including affordable homes, across New South Wales.

Since the formation of the HDA in January, 116 projects have had Secretary Environmental Assessment Requirements issued and 12 Development Applications have been lodged.

Of these two projects are currently on public exhibition and a further 10 projects have completed public exhibition.

To date, 289 proposals amounting to more than 98,200 potential homes have been declared state significant.

Recommendations from the HDA are published as required under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 before the SSD declaration.
