New green open space has arrived for Sydney’s eastern surburbs with the first parts of the new 20 hectare Moore Park South now open to the public.

Residents living in one of the most densely populated areas of Australia can now enjoy an off-leash dog area, picnic tables, and great green open space just a stone’s throw from their doorstep.

The new park has opened following 2 weeks of work to remove perimeter fencing and establish the first amenities.

People can access the park from Dacey Avenue and South Dowling Street with access from Reschs Bridge expected to be enabled before the end of July.

Making the most of the new park, picnic packages are available for purchase from the club house, a coffee cart will be onsite from 7am to 10am every day and a run club will begin this week, organised out of the Toll House.

Further events and programs to be rolled out to inviting people to explore the new park.

Work is continuing to deliver the park’s full design, including community sporting facilities, walking, running and cycling paths, and trails alongside a 12-hole golf course.

For the most substantial upgrades and additions to the park, construction is expected to be completed by 2028, while the new golf offer is expected to be completed in 2027.

The community will be kept updated on access changes at Moore Park South throughout construction.
