Held at Bradfield City’s First Building, on Saturday 6 June, ColliderFest will bring together hands on workshops, live performances, immersive installations, music, food trucks and interactive experiences for all ages, giving families a chance to experience Australia’s first new city in 100 years as it comes to life.
From building futuristic jungle cities and meeting robotic companions, to exploring the cosmos and creating giant collaborative artworks, ColliderFest will be packed with free activities designed to inspire curious minds of every age.
Visitors will also get rare access inside the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF), showcasing the cutting-edge technology and innovation helping shape the future of Western Sydney.
The festival shines a spotlight on the incredible STEAM talent emerging from across Western Sydney, with artists, performers, scientists, and innovators showcasing the ideas and creativity driving the region forward.
ColliderFest is part of the Minns Labor Government’s commitment to delivering free, family friendly events and cultural experiences across Western Sydney, so families can enjoy world class experiences close to home without the price tag.

- Join astrophysicist and author Professor Lisa Harvey-Smith on a thrilling ride through the cosmos, learning about the strangest and most beautiful things our night sky has to offer.
- Get hands on and join inventor and author Steve Mushin to design and make architectural scale models of high-tech jungle city buildings.
- Experience The Nature of Things by ERTH Visual and Physical Inc, featuring an immersive experience led by Fauna, a large-scale creature inspired by mycelium and forest ecosystems.
- Step back in time and soar through the skies with Sky Sisters, a lively performance celebrating the life of Australia’s first female commercial pilot, Nancy-Bird Walton.
- Reimagine the human body as a working factory, using craft materials inspired by mechanical parts to design and build your own “body factories” with moving components in Bionic Body Factory.
- Discover the art and science of paper folding, inspired by origami, engineering, and biomimicry with Lumifold.
- Meet Robodog, a cutting-edge robotic companion from Western Sydney University (WSU).
- Explore interactive exhibitions including:
- Power in Motion, turn a hand crank to generate energy and watch a model of the First Building come to life.
- Recycle City, using discarded materials, help build a collective artwork that reimagines waste as a resource.
- Closing Circuits, create a human circuit board with a participatory sound installation that comes alive through the power of human connection.
- Gut Feelings, inspired by the science of the gut microbiome and its connection to the brain, participants knit or crochet their own unique ‘bacteria’ forms, growing into a vibrant, evolving installation.
- Beholder, an interactive audiovisual project exploring the subjectivity of the camera lens and how perspective shapes what we value.
- Enjoy live music, food trucks and spaces to relax and explore with family and friends.
