Wollongong has seen a royal visit, a Sir Elton John concert and now legends Bob Dylan and Cher are on the way…but we have still yet to host a visit by the NSW Treasurer, Dominic Perrottet MP – in more than 16 months since his appointment on 30 January 2017.
Perhaps a Cher song inspired request may help break the Treasurer’s “Heart Of Stone” when it comes to visiting Wollongong.
“If I Could Turn Back Time’, the Treasurer should have already been a frequent visitor to Wollongong.
“After All” – it’s certainly not too late for the Treasurer to get a “Taxi, Taxi”” and take on the short drive from the Sydney CBD to come on “Down, Down, Down” to Wollongong because it’s not “The Long Winding Road”.
“It’s A Cryin’ Shame” that he hasn’t bothered to visit Wollongong over the last 16 months.
I have previously invited the Treasurer to visit Wollongong and all he has to do is “Say The Word” and “What I’ll Do” is arrange a series of meetings with stakeholders and members of the community so he can have “Believe” in the state’s third largest local government area.
But the Treasurer must not set a date for “The Twelfth of Never”.
It’s “Time” the Treasurer stopped thinking he was “The Man That Got Away” without visiting Wollongong before the next election in March 2019.
This is a standing invitation to visit, not an invite issued on “Borrowed Time”.
